Hunger lunch for Niger

Understandably the world’s attention has been fixed upon Pakistan following the monsoon flooding… but Niger is in a  desperate state. This is the poorest country in the world.. there has been hunger on a massive scale due to sustained drought and then, just as green shoots appeared for this year’s crop, there is massive flooding.   As part of our awareness raising and to get some funds, I am hosting at my Vicarage, 76 Letchworth Rd, LE3 6FH a hunger lunch.. on Monday 13th Sept, from 12 noon to 1.30 pm.

People will get a bowl of soup, a glass of water and if they are lucky, a piece of bread and will be invited to put in  a basket what they would have spent on a good lunch or whatever they can afford.   It’s not much, but it’s a start!
