Ecclesiastical Bursary Award Applications

Ecclesiastical is proud to announce that the applications for the 2011 awards are now being accepted on our website at www.ecclesiastical.com. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer our support to the members of the clergy and have, this year, decided to extend our awards scheme to also include applications from Bishops, Deans and Archdeacons to give more members of the clergy the opportunity to apply.

Due to the nature of their work and the demands of busy ministries, most members of the clergy rarely manage to make sufficient time to carry out  imaginative projects to improve their ministries or to simply take time to refresh themselves through a spiritual journey. The Ministry Bursary Awards are here to help them achieve just that.

Applications for Ecclesiastical’s Ministry Bursary Awards will be accepted between 1st April and 30th September 2010, the judging will take place in November 2010 and awards will be issued in December 2010 and January 2011.

FOCUS is a young people’s organisation and our vision is of ‘a society in which individuals feel inspired and empowered to have a positive impact in their communities’. We achieve this through providing personal development programmes for diverse groups of disadvantaged young people between 16 and 25 years old. We aim to build their confidence, self-esteem, interpersonal skills and sense of community belonging, so that they can believe in themselves and their abilities and make the most of their lives. FOCUS runs the Leicester City youth volunteering team, “Leicester vinvolved team.” Within this is the Youth Action Team (YAT), of which I am a member, and it is this team of young people that are organising this event. It is an event to praise and reward young people, organised by other young volunteers. It is this that we believe makes our award ceremony truly unique and your organisation could be a massive part of this amazing opportunity for young people to show that they can make a change to society and are proactive in doing so.

I look forward to reading your nomination forms, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Youth Volunteer Development Manager, Emily Godwin if you have any further questions.

Many thanks
